Split Personality Necklace

When I was growing up in Germany, green and blue together were absolute no-nos! But I loved the combination anyway (or perhaps because of that?) and that love has never waned.

When I received the wonderful two-colored glass donut, I knew I had to carry that theme forward rather than try to blend things in. I created a two-color peyote bezel with lime green and blue Japanese delica beads. I continued the stark two-color block theme with the original SandFibers bail and even the beaded bead used in the clasp.

I then decided that perhaps one could carry this a little too far: in unheard of restraint and moderation, I combined the colors for the spiral herringbone/Ndeble rope. The busiest part of this piece actually provides the greatest visual rest. Go figure!

Now for the nuts and bolts. The beaded rope is 17" (including clasp). The donut 44mm (1.75"). The pendant hangs about 2". The pendant can easily be removed from the necklace and be worn with a ribbon or precious metal chain for a different look. The beaded rope will look lovely worn by itself, for yet another jewelry wardrobe option.
